Pauline Karaska

Pauline Karaska of Plano, Texas, formerly of Stratford, Conn., died Wednesday at home.

A daughter of the late Nicolas and Catherine Smarsh Konchuha, she attended Plains Township High School.

She was a member of The Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport, Conn., and St. Sava Russian Orthodox, Plano, Texas.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ted J. Karaska Sr.; brothers, Nicholas Konchuba and Peter Konchuha; sister, Lovie Schubert.

Pauline is survived by a son, T.J. Karaska, with whom she resided; grandchildren, Marie Buzynski, Mooresville, N.C., Michele Flaming, Vero Beach, Fla.; and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702, with services at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Nanticoke, Pa.

Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township, Pa. Friends may call Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m. Those who desire may give memorial contributions to St. John’s Russian Orthodox Church, 106 Welles St., Nanticoke Pa. 18634.
