Nicholas Aquilina, a life resident of Pittston, died Sunday, February 1, 2009.
He was born May 31, 1913, in Dunmore, a son of the late Florence and Cologero Aquilina. He attended Pittston City schools.
He worked as a coal miner and later worked in the area garment industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Aquilina; brothers, Patrick and Michael Aquilina; sisters, Concetta Zada Ferrara, Margaret Milazzo, Mary Sciandra.
Surviving are sons, Nick, and wife, Freda Aquilina, Las Vegas, Nev.; Dr. Charles and wife, Tina Aquilina, Shavertown; Patrick Aquilina, New York City; brother, Sam Aquilina, Buffalo, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Mary Di Marco Aquilina, Pittston; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. David and Melinda Aquilina, Lisa Brighton, Tina Aquilina, attorney Charlene Aquilina; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be Friday, February 6, 2009, at noon from the Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Township Blvd., Pittston Township, with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. Rocco’s R.C. Church in Pittston.
Friends may call Friday, February 6, 2009, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Interment will be in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston Township.
