The University of Scranton will host two rounds of the NCAA Division III women’s basketball tournament this weekend, while the school’s men’s team hits the road.
Both Scranton teams were placed in the NCAA tournament when bids were announced Monday. Although each captured Landmark Conference championships Saturday, the conference champion does not get an automatic bid in the national tournament until next season.
The first two rounds are set for Friday and Saturday.
The 18th-ranked Scranton women (23-4) will play Keuka College (17-7).
St. Lawrence University (19-7) plays Cortland State (23-4) in the other game at the Long Center with the two winners set to face each other Saturday night. Starting times have yet to be announced.
The men’s team (21-6) heads to Franklin & Marshall University in Lancaster to face Brandeis (17-7) in the first round.
Franklin & Marshall (22-5) faces Wesley College (18-9) in the other Friday game with the winners set to meet Saturday.
