PLAINS TWP. – Police are looking for a Wilkes-Barre man wanted for criminal homicide in connection to a deadly stabbing last month inside of an after-hours nightclub.
Eugene “Lamp” Davis, 23, last known address 15 Loomis St., is accused of stabbing 20-year-old Ronald Gabriel, of Brooklyn, N.Y., police said.
Nanticoke District Judge Donald Whittaker issued a warrant on Friday for Davis’ arrest.
State police at Wyoming alleged Davis stabbed Gabriel at Energy 21/Diablo’s Nightclub during the early morning hours of March 22.
Gabriel, who suffered a stab wound to the neck, was driven by a private vehicle to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, where he died about an hour later.
Officials have labeled the Diablo’s, a private nightclub, owned by James Ross Sperrazza, 46, of Plymouth, a trouble spot.
The club, located behind Plains Plaza on River Street, has a history of stabbings, fights and underage drinking since it opened in 2004, according to Times Leader archives.
The state police major case team, along with township police and members of the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office are investigating.
Police attempted to locate Davis at the Loomis Street address and two other spots he frequented, but were unable to find him Friday night.
Davis is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, police said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Davis is asked to contact the Wyoming barracks at 697-2000.
