Robert Morgan Evans, of Inman Park, Hanover Township, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, Heritage House.
Robert was born on February 24, 1946, a son of the late Benjamin and Ruth (Williams) Evans, Sr. He attended and graduated from Hanover Township High School, Class of 1964. While in high school, he was known for his singing ability, especially with “The Dozenaires”.
Robert served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969, working on the electrical systems of B-52s. His main tour was on the island of Guam. On his return, he was employed by Circus Playhouse. At the time of his death, he was employed by E.D. Pons & Associates as Project Manager.
Robert was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, Hanover Township. He served as an elder, head of the property committee, and a member of the Chancel Choir.
His love of singing extended to the Choral Society of Northeast Pa., where he was a member of the tenor section for 15 years.
Robert was well-known for his helpfulness to friends, neighbors, and the church family. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Manny Pons of Hanover Township; brother and sister-in-law David and Margaret Evans, Kingston; sister-in-law Theresa Evans, Centermoreland; and most especially, his youngest brother, Doug, for whom Rob lovingly cared. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, especially Christopher and Gabriel.
Funeral will be Friday, 11 a.m., at Christ United Presbyterian Church, 105 Lee Park Ave., Hanover Twp. Friends may meet at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Friends and family may call this evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home, Inc., 679 Carey Ave, Hanover Twp.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Christ United Presbyterian Church or the Choral Society of Northeast Pa.
