Stanley J. Kamon Jr., 80, of Mead Street, Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at home.
He was born in Nanticoke, a son of the late Stanley Sr. and Mary Kowalski Kamon. He was a graduate of Nanticoke High School, Class of 1947, and was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as Sergeant First Class during the Korean Conflict with the 109th Field Artillery and also a member of the American Legion Post No. 350, Nanticoke.
He was employed by J.M. Wachtler Jewelry Company for 37 years, retiring in 1981.
He is presently survived by his wife, the former Betty Riefski; sons Joseph and wife Joann, Allentown; Mark and wife Christine, Chester Springs; daughter Janet and husband Roger Hutley, Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren Martina and Valerie; Jame, Mike and Emily; Peter and Thomas; sister Dorothy Nasser, Sheatown.
American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke, will conduct a Military Funeral on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51 W. Green Street, Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Nash officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Sheatown.
