Stella Marie Rice Lanunziata, 60, of Main Street, Swoyersville, went home with the Lord early Thursday evening after losing a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on May 18, 1949, a daughter of the late William and Patronella (Rutchakus) Rice.
Stella was a graduate of Ashley Sugar Notch High School, Class of 1967. She was employed as a fashion model for several high end fashion companies. She was a kind-hearted person who was always willing to help anyone in need.
Surviving are her husband, Angelo Lanuaziata at home; daughter, Barbara Kivler and her husband, William, Plains Township; sons, Angelo Lanunziata Jr., Exeter, Joseph Castellano and his wife, Sherry, Wyoming; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jessica, A.J., Marshall and Michelle; sisters, Mary Ann Riley, Nanticoke; Patricia Miers, Dallas; Ann Bartorillo and her husband, Sam, Luzerne; Mary Hooper, Wyoming; brothers, William Rice and his wife, Marlene, Freeland; Joseph Rice and his wife, Kathy, Dallas; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a blessing service on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call on Sunday, from 5 p.m. until time of service.
