A Tale of Two Fairs

This is the best of times to find a caramel apple, fried Oreos and a funnel cake all in the same place. It could, however, be the worst of times for your diet.

It’s the spring of hope if you and your tractor are going to tackle an obstacle course. Or it’s the winter of despair – at least from the standpoint of the old jalopies destined for the demolition derby.

OK, OK, enough borrowing from English lit. Stop us before we compare Madame DeFarge’s ominous knitting to the homespun needlework in the arts-and-crafts displays.

This is not Charles Dickens’ “A Tale Of Two Cities,” after all.

This is a tale of two fairs – the Kiwanis/Wyoming County Fair, which continues through Labor Day, and the Luzerne County Fair, which begins Wednesday.
