Michelle Marie Baldwin and Anthony Frank Friendy were united in marriage Dec. 13, 2008, at St. Gabriel’s Parish, Hazleton, by the Rev. Greg.
The bride is the daughter of Tom and Gloria Baldwin, Hunlock Creek. She is the granddaughter of the late James and Anna Baldwin and the late Charles and Margaret Mobilia.
The groom is the son of Anthony and Donna Friendy, Orefield. He is the grandson of Helen DeBellis; the late Frank DeBellis; and the late Gitano and Angeline Friendy.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride chose Trina Johns, Whitehall, sister of the groom, as matron of honor. Joy Stemrich, Idaho, friend of the bride, was a bridesmaid. Flower girls were Josie and Jenna Latorres, Allentown, friends of the bride, and Gianna Friendy, niece of the groom.
The groom chose his brother, Mario Friendy, Oregon, as his best man. Groomsman was Neil Johns, Whitehall, brother-in-law of the groom.
Greeter was Donna Diltz, friend of the bride. Readers were Jodi Babcock and Stacy Spadt, both friends of the bride, and Greg Furchner, friend of the groom. Presentation of the gifts was given by Tonya Farber and Christine Gigler, both friends of the bride, and Mary Furchner, friend of the groom.
The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ferdinand’s Restaurant, Hazleton. A cocktail and dinner reception were held at the Ramada Inn and Hotel, Wilkes-Barre.
The bride graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She earned a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is employed as a licensed clinical social worker at the Oregon State Department of Corrections. She is also a court-appointed advocate for children and families of Oregon.
The groom is a graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He earned a master’s degree in biology from Einkorn. He earned a second bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from King’s College. He is employed by Urgent Care Northwest Gresham and Portland Adventist Hospital as a physician’s assistant.
Anthony proudly completed a year-long tour in Ramadi, Iraq, with the United States Army Reserves in 2005-2006.
The couple lives in Oregon City, Ore.
