Irene Donlavage, 85, of Exeter, died Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Swoyersville, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Susan Vernailus Whitman.
Irene was a graduate of Swoyersville High School and Wharton School of Business, and was employed for many years by Beverage World in Pittston.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Exeter.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A Donlavage; brothers, Walter, Viddie, Alex and Joseph Whitman; sisters, Helen Whitman, Tillie Tomaskovic, and Isabell Butsick.
Surviving are daughter, Lisa (Michael) Adams; sons, Kenneth, Richard, and Gary Donlavage; brother, Robert (Adrian) Whitman, Nutley, N.J.; sister, Ruth Bitner, Doylestown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Leah Donlavage, Teddy Donlavage, Montana Adams, and Rachael Adams; sisters-in-law, Margaret Whitman and Theresa Balliet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St John the Baptist Church, Schooley St., Exeter. Internment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, Carverton. Friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m.
