Marie A. Winslow, 95, of Larksville, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes Barre.
Born January 16, 1916, in Larksville, she was a daughter of the late John and Agnes Mazeski Winslow. Marie was a graduate of Larksville High School, Nesbitt Hospital School of Nursing and College Misericordia.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville, a former member of St. Casimir’s Church, Lyndwood, Hanover Township. Marie was a U.S. Navy nurse serving during World War II.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township, and, prior to this, the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital, where she also taught nursing students.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters, John Winslow of Kingston; Eleanor Yasenchak of Kingston; Edward Winslow and his wife, Jeanne, of Miami, Fla.; and Rosaline Winslow of Larksville; nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Bonislawski and her husband, David; Joseph Yasenchak; John Winslow Jr. and his wife, Nancy; James Winslow and his wife, Karen; Edward Winslow and his wife, Laura; and Kenneth Winslow and his wife, Marie; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville. Interment will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Muhlenburg, Pa.
