King’s psychology department attends Peace Day symposium

A group from the King’s College psychology department recently attended the International Peace Day symposium held at the United Nations. The group was invited to attend the event based on the college’s participation in the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Program. Mike Church, associate professor of psychology, served on a United Nations panel on women’s rights and the college hosted a world-wide teleconference on stress as part of King’s involvement with the UNAI Program. This year’s symposium, ‘Give Peace Another Chance,’ marked the 30th anniversary of International Peace Day. The key element of the symposium was a round table on ‘Higher Education and Human Dignity.’ Participants, from left: Jess Kohlert, associate professor and chair of the psychology department; Church; and Exaud Hugho, a senior at King’s from Tanzania.
