Pittston Knights of Columbus Council 372 is sponsoring a free throw contest on Saturday, January 29, at Pittston Area High School, Stout Street, Yatesville. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Competition begins at 10:30 a.m.

The Pittston Township Little League will hold registration for the upcoming 2011 season on Tuesday, January 25 and Thursday, January 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the Pittston Township Municipal Building.
Eligible players may sign-up for the following division: T-ball, coach pitch, minor, major and minor baseball and girls’ softball, junior league baseball and softball. New players are asked to bring a birth certificate (copy) and three proofs of residence (driver’s license, utility bills, insurance cards, etc.) Registration fees are $50 per player and $65 per family.

Dupont Teeball/Softball signups will be Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m., and Sundays 4-6 p.m. at Dupont Fieldhouse on Elm Street starting January 26 and ending March 16. Wyoming Area Ice Hockey team will honor their outgoing senior players at Senior Night on Friday, January 28 at the Revolution Ice Center (formally the Ice Box) in Pittston prior to the start of the 5:30 p.m. varsity game against Paupak. Admission is free.
The Avoca Basketball League will register interested K through 6th grade boys and girls tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Avoca Community Center located on Main Street. The ABL is sponsored by the Borough of Avoca and the Avoca Jolly Boys and plays on weekends through April. The ABL is played in Honor of Michael Joyce and directed by Stan Waleski. The Wyoming Area Wrestling Club will hold its annual Night at the Races on February 12 at St Anthony’s Church Hall, 28 Memorial Ave., in Exeter.
