Should everything play out tomorrow as planned, Wyoming Area will host Pittston Area on Wednesday afternoon in Exeter with first-place on the line in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division III swimming standings.

The Lady Warriors travel to Nanticoke tomorrow in a swim meet that was postponed twice, first due to the weather, and then to the closing of Nanticoke schools because of a water line problem. If Wyoming Area can get out of the Trojanettes pool without getting all wet, the Lady Patriots will come to town with one thing on its mind – winning the WVC DIII title.

Pittston Area handed WA its only loss of the season to date on the strength of its depth in the pool as both teams took even victories in the events at the PA pool.

The Lady Patriots will need to get by a tough Meyers team on Monday on the road in Wilkes-Barre if they hope to clinch. Pittston Area did not swim this week with the Meyers meet getting postponed because of bad weather on Wednesday.

WA 105, Meyers 81

Macawley Brown had a hand in winning five events as Wyoming Area stayed within striking range of WVC Division III leader and Cross River rival Pittston Area with a 105-81 victory over Meyers on Monday afternoon in Exeter.

Brown won the 50 Free and 100 Fly individually and was part of the winning 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay teams for the Warriors. She set a season-best time in the 50 Free with a time of :27.25, and also set a season-best and team-best time of 4:19.44 with the 400 Free Relay team of Ellie Laffey, Lauren Deluca and Melissa Cruz.

Deluca also set a season-best time in the 100 Free with a winning time of 1:04.35. She was also part of the 200 Medley Relay winning team with Brown, Cruz and Tia Brown.

Kierstin Lasher added an individually win in the 100 Back with a team-best time of 1:10.22 and also won the Diving portion of the competition with a scored of 186.60.
