Knights of Columbus Council 372 is hosting its annual Tom Redding Memorial bowling tournament on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. at Chacko’s Lanes. Dinner will follow at the council home. Any member of the Knights of Columbus is welcome to participate.

The sixth annual Eugene R. DeMinico II Memorial Basketball Game will be held Tuesday, February 15 at Pittston Area when the Patriots host Wyoming Area in a boys’ varsity basketball game at approximately 7:15 p.m..
A raffle will be held at the game for a 32" flat screen HD TV which is being donated by Eugene’s brother-in-law, Shawn Pugliese, owner of Pittston Appliance Center. All proceeds and donations will benefit the Hughestown Police Department Canine Unit.
Raffle tickets are available at Pittston Appliance and Dr. DeMinico’s office.
Wyoming Area Football Parents Association is having their monthly meeting on Thursday at 7 p.m. It will be held in room #129 at the high school. We are asking for all parents/guardians of players in grades 7-12th to attend as important information will be discussed for the Night of the Races. The Wyoming/ West Wyoming Little League will hold their monthly board meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall in West Wyoming. The Safety Training class will follow the meeting.
The Wyoming Area Softball Parents Association will be hosting an elementary softball clinic on Sunday, February 27 from 1-4 p.m. at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center Gymnasium, Exeter.
The clinic is open to girls in grades 3-8 from all area districts. Fundamentals of throwing, pitching, fielding, catchers skills, hitting and bunting will be taught by coaches and players from the WA Varsity and Jr. Varsity teams, in addition to coaches and instructors from various local travel teams.
Sign-ups will be conducted at the WA Secondary Center Gymnasium on Monday from 5-9 p.m. Fee is $20 per child. C

The Duryea Little League will hold its monthly tonight at 7 p.m. at the Duryea VFW. Anyone interested in coaching should attend. Registration forms and information will be available at the meeting.
The Old Forge Boys Roundball Club will sponsor its second annual Old Forge Jr. High Boys’ Basketball Tournament on February 19-20 will all proceeds going to the Kiel Eigen Fund.
Seventh and eighth grade teams from Old Forge, Wyoming Area, Lackawanna Trail, All Saints Academy and West Hazleton will participate in the event.
On Saturday, the seventh grade teams from Lackawanna Trail and West Hazleton will tip off the event at noon. The Wyoming Area 8th grade team will then face Lackawanna Trail 8th grade at 1:15 p.m. followed by a seventh and eighth grade doubleheader between All Saints and Old Forge at 2:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.
On Sunday, the seventh-grade consolation matchup will take place at 4 p.m. with the eighth-grade consolation game at 5:15 p.m. The championship games follow at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
On Saturday, March 26, Donkey Basketball makes its triumphant return to Wyoming Area.
The event, sponsored by the 2011 Senior Parents Association, features a basketball contest between senior students, WA teachers, coaches and local celebrities to raise money for the Senior Class “All-Night Party”, held the night of graduation.
This event promises great food, raffles, and a lot of fun. In 2009, over 2,000 people attended this event.
Tickets, available from any senior or at the door, and will go on sale in March. Tickets cost $6 in advance and $8 at the door.
A Charity Collectors Fest with a sports and non-sports memorabilia auction will be held February 18-21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Proceeds benefit Multiple Sclerosis Society on February 18; The Salvation Army on February 19; Candy’s Place for Cancer Wellness on February 20 and the SPCA on February 21.
