National Honor Society students Grace O’Neill, Kenny Miller and Anthony Schwab
The Avoca Basketball League will sponsor a Shoot for a Cause Free Throw Contest on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20, at the Avoca Community Center, Main St., Avoca.
This free throw competition is for boys and girls grades 2-6. The cost is $3 per player and benefits the American Cancer Society and Miles for Michael Foundation.
All Avoca basketball players grades second through sixth, boys and girls are encouraged to participate in the contest. Players have the opportunity to shoot Saturday, February 19, from 8 to 9 p.m. and Sunday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 8 to 9 p.m.
In the Shoot for a Cause Free Throw Contest, players will have the chance to shoot free throw for one minute. There will be first, second and third place awards given to the players with the most made free throws.
Shoot for a Cause is a Pittston Area National Honor Society project being done by students Grace O’Neill, Kenny Miller and Anthony Schwab.
