Students participate in Short Story Fair at WA Catholic

Students in third through eighth grades participated in a Short Story Fair. This fair, held every year, highlights the creative writing skills of the students on the junior and varsity levels. Pictured are:

Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science

On March 5, eleven eighth grade students from Wyoming Area Catholic School will participate in the Regional Competition of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science which will be held at King’s College, Wilkes-Barre. The goals of The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science are to promote greater participation in science activities among youth in Pennsylvania; to provide opportunities for the development of students as thinking people; and to improve the quality of achievement in the sciences encouraging students to participate in scientific research and to develop original ideas. The students who will represent Wyoming Area Catholic are:

Alexander Rowan, Gaetano Buonsante, Peter Kulick, Carina Forte, Madonna Mantione, Mark Cantafio, Michalene Mecadon, Megan Moran, Victoria Sidari, Ian Madigan and Mary Pat Blaskiewicz

Mary Ann Paddock-Kaminski is the moderator for the PJAS at Wyoming Area Catholic.

Gym Schedule

Due to the Monday holiday the gym schedule for the week of February 22 is as follows:

Thursday, Feb. 24: PK through fifth grades

Friday, Feb. 25: Sixth through eighth grades

Chess Club

The Holy Redeemer Royal Chess club will meet on the following days at St. Peter’s and Paul School in Plains from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
