Gene Pisano and John “Skip” McGlynn were the winners of gift certificates for the Super Bowl prediction they made in the Dispatch. Gene and John were two of 12 readers who predicted Green Bay to win 31-24. Green Bay won 31-25. Their names were pulled in a random drawing from among the 12.

Gene won a $25 gift certificate from the River Street Ale House. John won a $25 gift certificate from Saints and Sinners Pub.

This is the second time Gene has been a top picker in the Dispatch.

Asked how and why he came up with his prediction he said, “Because it was the most opposite of Louie Manganiello. That’s how I do all my predictions and I’m hitting 80 percent.”

John said he picked 31-24 because “1” and “4” were his block pool numbers. He missed out on a nice payout because the Steelers went for a 2-point conversion.

Joe Santorro, a manager of both establishments, handed out the certificates.
